THERM-A-GAP™ GEL 75VT – new thermally conductive gel

In short: A reworkable, dispensable silicone thermal conductive gel with a typical thermal conductivity of 7.5 W/m-K. The fully cured material is designed for vertical installation positions (VT: anti-slump) and applications subject to high vibration loads.

What makes 75VT special?

GEL 75VT was developed for the permanent heat path between the electronics and the cooling surface. It resists vertical sagging, behaves in High-vibration scenarios stable and is therefore also suitable for mission-critical systems. The manufacturer verified the Long-term reliability in automotive vertical slump tests, high vibration tests and telecom material tests. The result: Constant thermal performance over many years of operation.

Applications & industries – where GEL 75VT shows its strengths

Automotive sensors and control units, telecommunication modules, BESS modules (battery/energy storage), industrial and power electronics, network/IT infrastructure and consumer electronics. In these setups, GEL 75VT supports the Thermal management through reliable gap bridging and contact stability – a basis for reproducible tests of sensor technology, e.g. for Autonomous driving. Processing & rework – from dispensing to service

The one-component gel requires no mixing and secondary curing. With a dispensing rate of 15-25 g/min it can be applied precisely either manually or automatically. Low assembly force is sufficient to apply typical Bond-Line thicknesses up to ~4 mm are possible, rework/field repair is planned. Classification in the TIM portfolio: Thermally conductive pastes and gels.

Brief comparison – classification in the TIM portfolio

GEL 75VT is positioned as a high-performance TIM for variable geometries and vibration. Depending on the application Gap filler (e.g. for larger gaps or other assembly sequences) or Thermal adhesive tapes (defined adhesive strength, quick installation) may be the better choice. We can advise you on the right solution.

Frequently asked questions about the THERM-A-GAP™ GEL 75VT

The following short answers provide quick orientation on rework, dosage/bond line thickness and vibration resistance with THERM-A-GAP™ GEL 75VT – as a compact decision-making aid.

Can the silicone thermal conductive gel be reworked?

Yes, GEL 75VT is one-component, requires no mixing and can be laid out, removed and renewed for service purposes – depending on the structure and environmental conditions of your device.

What gap dimensions can be bridged?

The gel is dispensed and deforms even under low assembly force. Bond line thicknesses of up to around 4 mm are typical; the practicable thickness depends on tolerances and installation space.

Is 75VT suitable for applications with vibration?

Yes, the VT character (anti-slump) and the vibration resistance verified in tests support a stable thermal path, even in vertical installation positions and over long periods of use.
